About Me

I’ve walked the Great Wall, explored Mayan ruins, snorkeled the coasts of Bali, sailed through New Zealand’s glaciers, hiked volcanoes in Sumatra, and wandered the mysterious palace of Knossos. Life has been an adventure and I hope it never stops.

It’s through these trips I’ve gotten most of my ideas for my stories. That and just the fact I like to daydream!  I was born in upstate New York and raised in a log home. We even had a pond that froze over in the winters that we'd skate on. If you haven’t guessed by now, my favorite books growing up were the Little House books. Books have always been a huge part of my life, but when I reached 4th grade, I discovered writing my own stories and started my first writer's group. Addictive to say the least!

Later I discovered brilliant authors like JR Tolkien, CS Lewis, Stephen Lawhead, and EL Konisburg.

Today, I’m far from my backyard pond. I live and teach at an international school in an enormous city, Seoul, in South Korea with my hubby and two ‘superhero’ boys. Thanks to them, I feel very safe.

When I’m not writing and dreaming up stories, you might find me hiking, reading, singing, saving the world from ‘bad guys’ with my boys (yes, we use lightsavers and capes), and taking wild adventures with my hubby.
